What's a Collection template?

A Collection template is a group of Experience templates. Each Collection represents a group of components on your app like a screen, page or feature.

How do I access the templates page?

Sign in to your mtribes account and select a Space to work in. Open the Templates page using the vertical navigation on the left-hand side of the screen. On opening, you’ll see two tabs - Collection templates and Experience templates. You should already be on the Collection templates page, but if not, select the tab to open the page.

How do I build my Collection template?

1. Name and/or add a new category

To name your category, start typing in the text box that says Untitled, located at the top of the page. You can rename your categories at a later stage if you need to. To add a new category, hover your cursor under the example card and click on + Category. You can add a maximum of 50 Collections to each category.

 2. Name and add a Collection

Click on + Collection to create your first template, and give it a name at the top of the page. Remember to keep your Collection template name unique and consistent with naming rules.

3. Add Experiences

All the Experience templates you created before will be displayed on the right-hand side of your page. Simply drag-and-drop these Experiences across to build out your collection. If you don't see any Experiences on this page - go back to the Experience template tab and check that your templates have been updated.

4. Add a section

You can also drag-and-drop a section into your template. A section gives the editor flexibility to add and personalize these Experiences during the targeting stage. A section can hold up to 20 Experiences.

Finally, hit the Update button in the top right-hand corner to save your template.

That's it! Your collection templates will all appear on the main Templates page. Unsaved collections are displayed on a grey background.
